My own project - a hand-picked, interactive map of the best creative people in the north, designed and built from scratch. And they say there's nothing up north ...
the whole process
Designed and built end to end in vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript - no frameworks, no libraries, no map service. The whole UK is drawn from raw lat/lon coordinates through a custom projection I wrote by hand
Interactive low-poly map with the north in full colour and the rest of the country dimmed; every creative is a pin coloured by discipline, opening a profile card styled like a UK driving licence
No search bar - just a sentence: "i'm looking for [a photographer] up north," with a dropdown that filters the map across 21 disciplines. Google-Maps-style constant-size pins, same-town clustering and an auto-declutter pass so nothing overlaps
A shareable deep link for every person, schema.org structured data for SEO, and a companion script that auto-generates on-brand Instagram post images for each new creative. Live on Cloudflare Pages, growing by referral

People also ask
How much does a website cost in Harrogate?
Honest answer: it depends what the site needs to do - a restaurant taking bookings and a five-page trades site are different jobs. I price every project personally rather than off a menu. Email nothingupnorth@gmail.com and you'll get a straight answer, usually same day.
Why is my website not showing up on Google?
Usually some mix of: it's slow, it's not mobile friendly, it hasn't been touched in years, or Google can't read what you actually do. I find the exact reasons for free - one page, plain English.
Do I need someone to look after my website monthly?
A website is like a van - it needs servicing or it quietly breaks. I look after sites monthly: updates, security, fresh content and SEO, handled. One Harrogate shop's site got hacked this year because nobody was watching it.
